Microsoftに買収されたExpressionというソフトのForumに、「Product Manager」という肩書きの“Forest Key”という方が居るのであるが、今日ちょっと調べてみたら、実はなかなか興味深い経歴の持ち主であった。

Forest Key, a great friend of mine, has joined Microsoft working on an un-announced future technology related to Longhorn / Aero (go figure ;-)). Forest has an awesome CV - he worked in visual effects at Industrial Light & Magic, he then founded Puffin Designs along with Scott Squires and went on to create Commotion, the industry standard for 2D rotoscoping amongst other products. Having sold Puffin Designs to Pinnacle, Forest joined Macromedia to head up marketing for Flash. Its great to have another die-hard mac guy working on Longhorn - go Forest!

↑な人が作ってるのね、「Aero」だの「Avalon」だの。
素人感覚だと、たかがOSのGUIごときに無駄遣いを〜となるけれど、「Longhorn」でMicrosoftが目指している方向性の一つが、Macの牙城(デザイン＆映像製作)の切り崩しにあるならそれはそれで。
なわけで、「LivingCels(=Expression)」と例の「Sparkles」の関連は、どうやら疑いようも無い。
そのうちMicrosoftがMotion だのShakeだのFinal Cut Proだのを発表する頃、きっともう一度会えるね。
